Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and agreement

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding agreement. By creating an account or using GoatedGoats, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you use GoatedGoats for a farm, business, or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.

2. The service

GoatedGoats provides tools for recordkeeping, pedigrees, breeding management, marketplace listings, and listing-related communication. GoatedGoats is not a broker, auctioneer, veterinarian, genetics laboratory, registry, insurer, escrow provider, payment processor, transporter, or party to transactions between users. Users independently decide whether and how to transact.

3. Accounts and security

Provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly update changes. You are responsible for activity under your account and for ensuring farm members have appropriate authority. Notify support@goatedgoats.net of suspected unauthorized access. We may require email confirmation, identity verification, or additional safeguards.

4. Records, pedigrees, and breeding estimates

You are responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness, and completeness of livestock, pedigree, parentage, health, registration, ownership, breeding, and offspring data you submit. Imported registry records must be reviewed before saving. Coefficient-of-inbreeding, compatibility, diversity, bloodline, due-date, and other analyses are pedigree-based decision-support estimates limited by the information recorded. They are not veterinary, genetic, legal, registry, or financial advice and do not guarantee health, fertility, offspring, registration, or transaction outcomes. Consult qualified professionals and verify official records.

American Dairy Goat Association and ADGA are names and marks of their respective owner. GoatedGoats is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ADGA. An import label identifies the source format reported by the user; it does not mean that GoatedGoats or a registry verified the record.

5. Marketplace transactions

Listings and user statements are supplied by users and are not endorsed or verified by GoatedGoats. Before buying, selling, leasing, breeding, transporting, or transferring an animal, independently verify identity, ownership, registration, health testing, animal condition, location, legal restrictions, biosecurity, insurance, payment terms, and transportation. Use written agreements and safe payment practices. You are responsible for taxes, permits, animal-welfare duties, registry rules, import/export rules, and other laws applying to your transaction.

6. User content and permissions

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant GoatedGoats a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, format, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and fulfill your sharing choices. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content, including personal information and animal records relating to others. You may remove content using available controls, subject to legal retention and records already shared in completed transactions.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not use GoatedGoats to violate law or animal-welfare requirements; misrepresent identity, ownership, pedigree, registration, health, fertility, location, price, or authority; sell stolen or unlawfully held animals; harass, threaten, discriminate, defraud, or exploit another person; upload malware or unlawful content; scrape, probe, overload, reverse engineer, bypass access controls, or access another account or record without permission; manipulate metrics or offers; or use the service for spam or unrelated social messaging.

8. Safety, moderation, and enforcement

We may investigate reports; restrict discoverability; remove content; preserve evidence; suspend or terminate accounts; and cooperate with authorities when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or animals, secure the service, or comply with law. Blocking reduces contact but cannot eliminate all risk. In an emergency or suspected animal cruelty, contact appropriate local authorities.

9. Third-party services

The service depends on third-party infrastructure, registries, app stores, notification systems, and links. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. GoatedGoats does not control or warrant third-party availability, content, registry decisions, or services.

10. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using GoatedGoats and delete your account through Profile & Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, security risk, legal requirement, nonpayment if paid services are introduced, or discontinuation. Sections intended by their nature to survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and dispute provisions—survive termination.

11. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOATEDGOATS IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RECORDS, IMPORTS, ESTIMATES, USERS, LISTINGS, ANIMALS, TRANSACTIONS, OR THE SERVICE WILL BE ACCURATE, SAFE, COMPLETE, CONTINUOUS, OR ERROR-FREE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GOATEDGOATS AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, LIVESTOCK VALUE, BREEDING OPPORTUNITY, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR A USER TRANSACTION. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID GOATEDGOATS IN THAT PERIOD OR US$100. This section does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify GoatedGoats and its operators from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your content, livestock, transaction, violation of these Terms or law, or infringement of another person’s rights.

14. Disputes and governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and, to the extent state law applies, the law of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Claims must be brought in a court with lawful personal and subject-matter jurisdiction. Nothing here removes non-waivable consumer rights, a right to bring a claim in a forum required by applicable law, or any protection that cannot lawfully be limited.

15. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. Material changes will receive reasonable notice and, when required, renewed acceptance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted. If you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your account. Questions may be sent to support@goatedgoats.net.
